Right after Jenny left Forrest, he started running, non-stopping run...he wanted to find out why...seeking for the truthful reason why she left him...he had no way to know....he kept running...the physical tiredness, the mind emptiness, he thought he would get that straight in a short while...no one knows it takes that long...that was why he run....until the day he stopped running...I guess he may already figure that out...hell know...

I start losing my riding passion lately...not totally, but I believe certain degree of losing...I could not see the heat like it use to be...I rode the single track like the daily I commute home...mind empty, car going...Good I picked up another one-running...I like running, never thought about this boredom sport will be in my list....I enjoy the stage of emptiness...the stage of mind...something but it is nothing....still go thru the up and down lung busting like riding, every stroke count....thousand of reasons to stop me in the middle, but I fight thru it, I can feel the firm from the Nike sole to the asphalt, I smell the trees, and inhale the dew, I hear myself, and sun shine on my face...my mind from one end of the world to no where...that is the beauty...Run Forrest run....believe or not-runners do get high after run...

Due to certain reason, I have to take care of her ...she came in with deflation tires ...a shinny red edgy body...interior equipped with ice cold black, Recaro seats, short throw 5 speeds...obviously she does not get enough attention...I got her home, sitting at the parking lot corner, went to rare So Cal shower and sunshine...

I fixed her today, I gave her full 32 digital PSI...she told me she wants to roll....I drove her on the Sunday I-10... 30hp different,I could not tell...but I noticed it takes the corner better, seat hold my body better... give all the credit to the performance suspension and Recaro seats...

Marathon

Lately I found a cool TV station, Universal Sport. It mainly put on some sport which is not as popular in this continent. Sport like bicycling, marathon, triathlon, ping pong, swimming, beach volley ball...any sport which not common seen...however I spent equal amount of attention time once I turn on TV as ESPN...I specially like the Kona Ironman, I was inspired and totally flatted with these participants who could accomplish something look so impossible...sometimes I ran in emotional tear while I saw these participants finished at the finish line...together with these participants who finished with hand raising their prosthetic limp...

Long Beach International Marathon, the marathon known as so many F's (Fun, 80% of course is flat, festival...) my 1st marathon (even it is a 1/2 marathon)...I believed I experienced something similar to this Ironman...From the 1st day of signing in, I put in a routine, I forgo my favorite In & Out and soda, I hesitated, I could not sleep a night before, I got into the NBS (Nervous Bowel Syndrome), I started running, I ran, I hesitated again, I wanted to give up at the mile 8, I hear illusions En crying, I tied my very best to put in a series of small moves....finally I see crowd, I hear the hand clapping and cheering...the arc of finishing line...I was happy and tried hard not to break in tear of joy...and finally...man, this is awesome, I want to do this again...

Running, since June? I am sure for couple months...Today I passed cycling routine and did running...same loop as my usual biking, a prep for the next week marathon....Couple things I learned today, there is no pre runnning food, the 1st hour break thru is tough, I could run better in cold weather, old bottle should be replaced (or else you will complaint the strange taste of energy drink in bottle), blister on the foot should be left alone during the run (it is distractive but you should able to run thru it, and indeed nothing much you can do with the blister).

Last but not final, I should able to do it this coming weekend... And, this should pilot my decision of next March-LA Marathon...

Stung by bees...incident happened while I was running on the same trail...Never seen these guys before...probably was chased out by the Station fire from moutain...then get close to the civilian and start attacking...At the same time a lofty chinese "Ironman" wanna be passed by....and...Bee family: " let's get him.."
I killed couple of them, the tail still on my body...no others at the scene... orelse will be funny, imagine a man ran like no tomorrow with both hands swinging around his head and ears...

Other than this, I went to my 1st Angel game...somehow I only knew Ichiro from the opponent team...well, wacko wore red and cheered for the Marines Ichiro...

1.) Just got off from work, grabbed my lunch box, headed to 91...

2.) Just before I took the exist out to 91, meter light was on to control the traffic flow into the freeway...

3.) Just like usual, practise my 4.7 rush, from the outside to inside...

4.) Just without much attention, there was a DUB 22 White Magnum Hemi rams closely to get out of the 91 at the same time...

5.) Just respond to the close chase, I ramped up 2000, 3000 to more than 6000 rpm...the engine stalled once it hits more than 6000 rpm...

Conclusion:
-Engine will stall once it hits the red line. (The freakin chip is working)
-4.7s is too short to react.

Verdict: 4.7 was rocking in front of Hemi...

Look out, unemployed rate is rocking sky high. I am blessed I still very busy at work everyday. Everyday work and post work, the hectic pace my living rhythm. I found myself started losing the focus, can not concentrate (from the simple mistake I had), not paying much attention to my girls, have not look into K eyes for a while, let the leaking plumb drip, walk around the messy toys...

I take a day off today, staying home take care of something. Organize the drawers, screening chocking hazard potential toys, take a nap, shredding the old statements...

Day is 24hrs, life is everyday...sometimes is good to slow down to chew more thoroughly things around...remember, we only live once.

I like this one, the circular front light and the big fog light totally bring out the WRC feel. Better of with the tall rear spoiler.

This is the one classic of the Japanese car design. The sleek edges and squareness.

Mini is mini...I like the small and nimble.

This will be the icon of Import muscle while we all turn 50. Equivalent to this Challenger in late 60s.

I went to a classic car show last week, the show is mainly late 60s and early 70s muscle car. The soaring gas price killed the muscle car era. I got opportunity to talk to these car lovers...May be we all love car, feel so open while we talk...Can not believe back then the Detroit giants already in the HorsePower rage (300HP is average)...

I started wonder, what car I will collect once I hit 50s? Muscle car? I am not even borned in the late 60s, I do not have a background of this...I think most probably my garage will have a NSX, Skyline R37, STi, M3, Mini, 94 Carrera ....Hey Pee, what about a Prius? Not yet...let me hear the engine rumbling...

Without you aware, now is the season people talk about new year resolution. The busiest time in a year for those weight clubs, month January and February (Yeah, that is pretty much how far people passion can hang). After busy running my mind crazy about new year resolution, then I conclude couple belows;
- Spend 30 min daily to read El bedtime story.
- Brush El teeth daily.
- Restrict El's TV watching time.
- Spend more time with El.
- Run minimum twice a week. Each time minimum 2 miles.
- Ride once a week.
Not too difficult task, I should able to take it. Will check back by June.

The first I do mountain biking, I love downhill. Enjoying the speed and trail maneuver. However, trail is not always down. We must go thru the up and down cycle. Matter of fact, the tough uphill climbing memory always last longer than the downhill sloping. Year 2009, I see that as a long distance, lung busting climb. One stroke at a time, a series of small progressive move. Avoid sudden direction or momentum change to conserve energy. Eyes open for unexpected rock up front. Sit tight and low body posture to keep the front wheel on ground. Even take a break to catch breath. Doing all of these in order to make sure I can hang till the top of the hill and guarantee enjoy the wind flow thru my ears again.

The world know the powerful V8, the GTO, the Hemi, the pony, the raw American Muscle,the road burning, engine rumbling, the BIG, all the goodies, fascinate thing for a car crazy ...II remembered I learned the Trans Am from the 80s sitcom-Knight Rider, I saw the secret agent escaped with the boxy front grill GMC, I saw our beloved royal family drove a yellow Tang, and amazed by the notorious curve of the Stingray Vette...inspired by the slogan for Hummer-Go Anywhere (but they forgot end the slogan with " will cost you Arm and leg" because of low efficient engine)...Tell me who don't want this...This is all luxury...the road is not always straight as the 1/4 mile drag strip, so to our life, our economy, our preference...With what we want conjunction with what we afford, can you listen to us...Jap import is not the Tin Can...So FOGMER (with the merging of US three major automakers), please go to study what others do...a good example- Subaru, 25 grands temporary feeds a mid class family man crave who can not afford Porsche. Good handling and Boxer engine , rear seat is good for at least 2 child seats. 20 MPG while the gas price rock high at 4 dollars a gallon.

Ok, Motown, just my two cents of thought.

P.S. Hybrid may be the future, but not the solution.

Montrose Ride, a peloton ride I have been trying to catch once in other Saturday. Basically it is about 150 riders, cranking hard on the open street in average 35mph. What I able to hear in a group is nothing but wind and bearing running wilds (imagine 150 riders crank at the same time). Today I did the same, tried to squeeze in the mid pocket of the peloton, same as usual see some good shape female rider at my front all the way till Arrow Hwy, Irwindale. That is the toughest part of the ride, group will tend to crank harder to beat the street traffic light. Todat I felt my condition was bottom out before hitting here. Riders passing me. I figured out next time will be better. I started slow down. While my mind was running, I feel a hand on my back, and told me "Use your gear, use low gear". I looked back...hey, this guy look familiar...I saw him in Bicycling Magazine or Velonews...I know he is from Team United Toyota, then I found out his name here-Ivan Dominguez, below is his 2008 race result;

Invicta Pro Diver, I got it this year for my father day gift. Isn't it ring a bell for a lot of watch collector? Yes, it is like replica of our long love timepiece Rolex Submariner. It is a detour for me, feel like wearing expensive timepiece without leaving a hole in my wallet. I can wear it daily, abuse it without feeling much pain. After all it is a gift from K.

Suunto Advizor, I bought it year 2007 while my another HRM was broken. It has many functions like Compass, Barometer, Altimeter, Heart Rate Monitor and Time. I have been using it for my bicycling. So far it meet what I need unless it has a very bulky profile and having very short battery life (I think is 2 years).

Casio Illuminator. I bought it in Wal Mart in 2004. I bought this watch because I need a watch with least attention, and function. This watch fit in my budget, with Dual Time Zone, 30 Data Bank and 10 year battery life. I have wore it to my unforgettable China trip. During that time, it functioned as an alarm clock to wake me up. I still wear it nowadays for jogging and swimming.

Kenneth Cole. After years of digital and bulky type of watch, I started looking for something with low profile, classic, simple and clean. Then I found this watch in 2000. People said this watch does not suit my personality. However I have wore this for long, even my wedding picture was with this. You all will still find this on my wrist in some occasion.

Timex Ironman. I bought this watch while the Casio G Shock was making fashion statement. I believe it is sometime 1997. I like this watch, because it was unique while everybody was wearing G Shock. It is rugged, and having a very cool blue Indiglo light mode. It is very good match back in my very active life in college.

BUM Equipment Individual. My first leather belt watch, I received it as a gift back in 1996. I did not like it but it is from a very important person in my life. I was so care about this watch until I did not want wear it. After years this watch with me, I don't think I have wore it for more than 5 times. Now, it is idle as a vase with history.

Seiko Kinetic. So far the oldest watch I am having. I have had it since 1995. My mother bought it to me. Every time I look at it, I remember my mother and I shopped in the store that time. My first steel belt watch, with Sapphlex Crystal len. Over years, the len still very clear. Needless to say, it has a lot of scratches from the time on the bezel.

After all, my piece of watch must be something I can put on my wrist, to wear it, to abuse it and will not feel bad while it got scratched.

Can they make it? $4 a gallon now...

Couple emblems which used to be categorized as muscle car had evolved to daily commute, in order to fight the fierce coming of Japanese econo box. However some emblems still having very strong sentiment of muscle, the traditional rumbling engines, the one punch back pulling, street rolling skid, smoking hot machines... I like long weekend ( Who don't?), since I able to take a break from the daily crunch, diapers, traffic, works, peoples...More important I get to sit down and think, organize my life. This long weekend, with the $4 a gallon gas, I skipped the long travel, staying home organized my patio, garage, cleaned my bike, cleaned the floor. A little things which I ignored in the crunch time. And now, I have a little bit time to type here, that is the beauty of long weekend.

Last Sunday, with well time manage I able to squeeze in something I love in my weekend time-riding bike (Yeah, you read it right, no time in weekend, so enjoy your MIM...). After finished a 11 miles loop, I saw crowd close to the lake. And without second thought I headed to the bay. I saw many black suits athletes swam out from the lake. Wahoo...Must have a lot of gut to do this. Swim, bike and run. I don't think I am ready yet. My sore knee may still bothering me. Yes, I conclude I am not ready for this yet...

All the sudden I heard the high cheer and big hands from crowds, that lured all my attention away from the cool gears. I saw the real gut, the courage, the spirit, very focus group from the lake and moving into the transition area...I removed my gloves, and gave out all my hands for this group of athlete...none of my excuse valid... And thanks god for all you give.

This trip, I get a chance to visit Singapore, remember the last time to visit Singapore is 16 years ago. This place is definitely land of "Got", Singapore got ERP, the advance system of 4 levels line-MRT, step out of the station, got so many nations people, in Orchard road got YMCA, in Sentosa got beautiful tourist spots, China town got so many Malaysian cusine. And not to mention, people use the word "GOT" a lot... Got mei (mean doubtful existence)? Where Got (mean where but put got definitely show some local attitude)...emmmmmmm, this place is trully land of GOT...not to mention the other post dialog verb, like "What", very familiar "Lah". Taking the MRT heard alot from those young uniform girls conversation....you will be amazed how flawlessly they use english to express themself in the very oriental way...

Life experience enable people to handle things wisely, that separate a boy from a man...with experience we learned, we know how to confront things, without direct unveil the first thought, the raw feeling, which also included hidding our true feeling, calm down our emotional swing...Mr. T came this long weekend, we enjoy the moment being together, and also reach the time to separate. This seem so spontaneously of causes chain. Me and K handle it nicely, however do not forget we have a lil El, she does not have such experience, she unveil her feeling the most apparent way... Su Su Su Su , Yi Yi Yi Yi...these are the first she wake up and will look for...damn, I am diffused with her emotional coaster... so end up I spent a little counceling time in the swiming pool with her...buddy, we are looking for the next meet...

Somehow from OSU to CSUN, found couple commons. Here to share;
Same smell (office smell, may be from the aging papers), same sort of solution smell, same chalk board (long one, I have not seen one for a while), same bureaucratic, same cumbersome system for student, full of young energy (Well I found these students are like High School for me now)...and also, same shity faces from those advisor (Honestly, no offence, I respect this PHD like I respect profession, knowledge, but somehow I need to trust my intuition this time) . Aforemention are only my personal conclusion.
So, this afternoon visit, another window? Or a cold sober water? With bunch of pre-requisites, 3.0 minimum, GRE, time management, WPE, Conditional Classify...Scare me away? Or put myself in another non comfort zone again which I had tried very hard to leave....But now I miss that again....
Another thought, forget about pride, the level, selflessly speaking I will learn something from this. Put away the frustration build up, struggling inside out (I think I am better than a decade ago, I focus better and understand better)...Put all these aside, that is a self value upgrade, a Kai Zen... I washed my car today...yeah, no picture posted here, but got some thought...My car, aka bengvic (T named it with the hometown Choro's ride)..since 2003, will be 4th year this August. Still going smooth, as my daily commute, as my weekend SUV, sometimes my utility truck to haul my bikes, my Haci Ruku while going out the exist corner. Recently become El new play ground. And the beauty of it is, I 100% own the car, since the 5 speed stick totally define my car and K ride.

After years, I found it gains some dents from the market cart, some chip scars from the freeway dumps. It has gone more than 60K mile since I took the job, with putting in 500 miles at least each week...5W-20 full synthetic is its favorite juice, recent 215 add in some hugging power to fulfill my cleavage need, also the chrome tip give a better finish. Arrr... this is a keeper. The predecesor (Iron) still the dream ride for most of the Transformer fan (you gotto be at least 30 to know Transformer). 127, enjoy it...

After months of practise ( will be a full year this September, time really fly), we have used to the couple hours of gather. I start learn to manage the time, the long distance driving. Nowaday no more full attention on TV (No more Sportcenter), indeed we have more fun around the dinning table, more laughter in the little evening walk, even a short ride to catch the sun set up on the hill. Everyday I feel like time swooping by...Only while she is sleeping, I able to check my mail, put couple words in here, do a little billing. Nothing giant...Hey, keep quiet, don't wake the giant.....shhhhhhhh...she is sleeping, I enjoy a little time off here. Thanks god.

I have a good friend, he just like me. He loves car, and his situation allow him to pursuit his dream, be a pony hunger...Also I have another friend, he is a PC geek. He pursuit his speed, the high Bit, bigger capacity (I am not PC geek...). And for the past, I have shared my thought with them, sky is the limit. We should happy with status quo. That was my thought.
Until recently, I change. Why stay 1500 if you might able to get 3500? Should I convince myself the same? I think I know the answer. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Pursuit better will motivate you work harder. Brother, I need to shift my tangent, start look for 3500. 18lbs and 16lbs might make a little different, but it definitely motivates people to seek for a little better perfection. So, look out! Here come the 3500. Look out! Another Ding Dong on the top of my Bengvic. But before that, gotto work smarter and harder.

Bias, stereotype, prejudice...something we learned we should not have in our judment. However recently I hear an interesting statement from radio show states "Living without bias is dangerous, people without bias is like a structure without back bone, a judge without regulation". In the real world, people make the first judge with their bias, and this bias are gained from the life time of experience. Like the first impression, the judgemental toward people behaviour, anticipation from experience...
Too bad, man lives in the society is having a lot of this invisible burden to add on. Even though we try not to fall into this main stream, we work hard to show we are not as conventional as they thought. Regular person will still judge base on our skin color, the accent from our language and so on... Welcome to the real world, to educate our next generation, in order to pull us out from this conventional image, to prove we are not just another chinito who know chinese kung fu, we must work double harder to prove to these person. Work hard to stand out in this imbalance real world. What do you think?
